Prime Minister Imran Khan took to Twitter to commend the Federal Board of Revenue on achieving ‘historic growth’ of 41 per cent in March 2021, with collections recorded at Rs.460 billion. The Prime Minister revealed that from July 2020 to March 2021, collections reached Rs.3380 billion, 10% higher than the same period last year.

“This reflects broad-based economic revival led by government policies,” the tweet read.

Earlier this week, the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) issued instructions to all the LTOs, MTO, CTOs, and RTOs to remain open and to observe extended working hours till 07:00 pm on 31st March 2021 (Wednesday) to facilitate taxpayers’ payment of duties and taxes.

It further instructed the Chief Commissioners (IR) to liaise with the State Bank of Pakistan and the authorized branches of National Bank of Pakistan to ensure transfer of tax collection by these branches on March 31 to the respective branches of State Bank of Pakistan.
