Prime Minister Imran Khan has announced the expansion of his welfare initiative

Prime Minister Imran Khan will be expanding the ‘Ehsaas Koi Bhooka Na Soye’ initiative to three more cities.

These cities include Multan, Gujranwala and Lahore.

The former cricketer will also launch four food trucks that will serve free food to daily-wage earners in the three cities.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Social Protection Dr Sania Nishtar and Managing Director Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal Malik Zaheer Abbas Khokhar will brief PM Imran on the expansion plan of the free food service in the three districts.

The prime minister launched the “Koi Bhooka Na Soye” programme under the umbrella of the Ehsaas poverty alleviation initiative.

Under this programme, mobile vans visit different areas to feed the poor and needy, usually daily-wage labourers, women and children.

It was initially launched in the federal capital but has now expanded to various other cities.

“We can only emerge among the comity of developed nations if we take steps for the welfare of the underprivileged,” the premier said in April.
