The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and PSL franchise owners had a long meeting in which they discussed a suitable window for the remaining matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Top officials of the PCB including PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani, Chief Executive Wasim Khan, Chief Operating Officer (COO) Salman Naseer and PCB Director Commercial Babar Hameed were present in the meeting.
A proposal of resuming the PSL in the third week of March was discussed but considering Pakistan team leaves for South Africa tour on March 27, it is highly unlikely that can be done.
According to sources, Ehsan Mani displayed a friendly attitude in the meeting. When other board officials tried to point out the breaches by franchises in the bio-secure bubble, Mani interrupted them and instructed them to stick to the meeting’s agenda i.e. to find a potential window for remaining matches.
Furthermore, the franchises were also briefed about the hiring process of the independent firm for the bio secure bubble.
The second option is to stage the matches after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League (IPL) after May 30. Now, the PCB will present its final recommendation with the franchise owners on either Friday or Saturday.
