For the fifth consecutive day, Pakistan recorded over 1,000 new COVID-19 infections. In the last 24 hours, the country registered 19 fatalities due to COVID-19 while 1,347 people tested positive, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC). Most casualties were seen in the province of Sindh followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
As of July 5, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 33,299. On Tuesday, 45,245 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 16,516; Punjab: 15,247; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP): 10,225; Islamabad(ICT): 1,771; Balochistan: 672; Gilgit-Baltistan(GB): 293 and Azad Kashmir (AJK): 521.
Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 198 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in GB, and Balochistan. So far, Pakistan has seen a total of 907,934 recoveries.
A total of 963,660 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 20,558; Balochistan: 27,419; GB: 6,427; ICT: 82,969, KP: 138,533; Punjab: 346,852 and Sindh: 340,902.
Till now, Pakistan has recorded 22,427 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 10,776 casualties followed by Sindh: 5,520 KP: 4,340; Islamabad: 780; Balochistan: 312; GB: 111 and AJK: 588.
639 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 2,158 patients being treated across the country. A total of 14,778,275 tests have been conducted so far in the country since the pandemic started.
