In the last 24 hours, 1,037 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Pakistan while 59 lost their lives, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC). Most casualties were seen in the province of Sindh followed by Punjab.
As of February 8, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 31,983. Yesterday, 32,149 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 9,136; Punjab: 11,809; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 5,859; Islamabad: 4,283; Balochistan: 546; Gilgit-Baltistan: 331 and Azad Kashmir: 185.
Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 265 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in AJK, GB and Balochistan.
A total of 555,511 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 9,219; Balochistan: 18,869; GB: 4,916; ICT: 41,994, KPK: 68,531; Punjab: 160,930 and Sindh: 251,047.
Till now, Pakistan has recorded 12,026 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 4,990 casualties followed by Sindh: 4,119; KPK: 1,957; Islamabad: 480; Balochistan: 196; GB: 102 and AJK: 272.
631 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 2,253 patients being treated. Till now, Pakistan has conducted 8,224,869 tests.
