Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz has said that the People’s Party (PPP) is no longer a part of the opposition alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and it is not her target.

Talking to the media in the Islamabad High Court on Wednesday, Maryam denied that there is difference in the PDM. “Everyone is on the same page. Everyone has the same ideology and the parties in the PDM have the same position as that of Nawaz Sharif,” she added.

Replying to a question, she said the issue of the PPP should not be discussed now as it is no longer a part of the PDM. “The PPP is not my target and I have nothing to do with it [the PPP],” Maryam continued.

The PML-N vice president said that resignations would have been effective had all the parties in the PDM would have resigned en masse.

She said that the world media has claimed that the government has given air bases to the United States. This is a very serious matter. The government should clarify its position, she maintained.

Responding to a question, Maryam said that the government is using state institutions for political victimisation.
