The Federal Bureau of Revenue implemented COVID-19 precautions today and reduced staff strength by 50 percent on a fortnightly rotation basis.

FBR issued a circular which stated “FBR and all its field formations are advised to reduce the staff strength (BS-1 to BS-15) by 50% on fortnightly rotation basis w.e.f 13th November 2020.”

FBR devised a plan for the staff which stated that any staff member suffering from flu or fever ‘may remain off but to be available in the respective stations and on cell phones.’

FBR and Chiefs Heads of all field formations were advised to decide rotation of their officers. Staff members who are COVID-19 positive, or who have cough or flu are directed to report to the administration immediately. “Staff members having flu, chest infection or a history of frequent chest infections, Asthma or Cardiac related problems shall be allowed to work from their homes. Field officers were asked to allow their female staff to work from home. “ Employees above 50 years of age may be allowed to work from their homes, the FBR notice stated.

“The employees are directed wear face masks during office hours, avoid hand-shakes, hugs and maintain social distance as per standard Sops.” FBR directed that doors of all offices will remain open so no one can touch knobs or handles.
