Aqeel Karim Dhedhi and the AKD Group have termed a public notice issued in its name, in which allegations were leveled against Malik Riaz and Bharia BK-2, as a fake notice. Talking to The Correspondent Aqeel Karim Dhedhi said “It is a serious matter of cybercrime. We have clarified our position, and hope that the person behind it will be caught soon.”

A public notice issued by Ata-ur-Rehman & Co. – legal consultant of AKD Group – said “the general public is informed that neither Aqeel Karim Dhedhi nor the AKD Group or any other person or entity associated with Aqeel Karim Dhedhi or operating under the AKD Group has authorised, either expressly or otherwise, the authorship, production, publication or circulation of the public notice or warning.”

The notice added that “law enforcement agencies should investigate and find the person behind the issue.”

The statement added that through this notice issued today the general public is informed that neither Mr. Aqeel Karim Dedhi nor the AKD Group nor any person or entity associated with Mr. Aqeel Karim Dedhi “endorses or affirms” in any manner or way the content of the notice issued against Mr. Malik Riaz and his project.

A fake public notice started circulating on March 3, in which it was alleged that AKD Group and Aqeel Karim Dhedhi have initiated a case against Malik Riaz in the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and the Supreme Court of Pakistan. It was further alleged that Bahria BK-2 is being launched on a property which is owned by Aqeel Karim Dhedhi and that the possession of the land has been taken forcefully by Malik Riaz.
