A Hum TV Pakistani serial written by Khalil Ur Rehman, Juda Hue Kuch Is Tarah has received heavy backlash on social media for featuring the marriage of two unexpected foster siblings.

The Netizens have called the serial out for its controversial content on foster siblings and demanded PEMRA to take action against the serial and ban the broadcast. 

The promo of the drama has been revolving on social media and netizens have accused the channel to be promoting incest in society. These critics believe that such content is against the religious and social values of our society and will further promote indecency in society. 

Sarcastically, some netizens have compared the drama with a popular HBO series Game of Thrones, and its infamous characters Cersei Lannister and Jaime Lannister. Some other more seriously tweeted that drama demeans the “cultural and family system” of the society and a “bigger threat” than TikTok. 

Meanwhile, on a lighter note, some people have seen it as the right opportunity to debate whether marrying a foster sibling is actually halal or haram in Islam.

The cast and crew of the drama serial are yet to comment on the controversy. PEMRA has also not taken any action against the serial. The action of the drama will unveil how the writer has dealt with this controversial theme.
