The nation is observing the 73rd death anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah today (Saturday) across the country with solemnity and reverence.
To mark the day, Quran Khawani and Fateha will be held at the mausoleum of the Quaid in Karachi.
Educational institutions, political, social and cultural organiastions have planned programmes and seminars to highlight the personality and leadership of the Quaid.
Political leadership and people from various walks of life will visit the mausoleum to offer Fateha.
Born on December 25, 1876, Muhammad Ali Jinnah served as leader of the All-India Muslim League from 1913 until the independence of a free state of Pakistan on 14 August 1947. He died on September 11, 1948.
In a message to the nation before his death, the Quaid-e-Azam stated that “the foundation of your country has been laid, now it is your duty to build it.”
He served as the country’s first governor general until his death.
