The 12th match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) between Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiator has been postponed after Fawad Ahmed from the United camp tested positive for COVID-19. According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), match will now take place tomorrow at 7pm.

The official Twitter account of Islamabad United confirmed the news. “One of our players, Fawad Ahmed tested positive for Covid and was immediately put in isolation 2 days ago. All other Islamabad United players & members have tested negative & have been cleared to play. We wish Fawad a speedy recovery.”

Both teams have been barred from leaving the hotel and rapid testing is being done as we speak.

“A player from one of the sides featuring in this evening’s match has tested positive. The player had shown symptoms two days ago and had been immediately isolated. Members of his side have tested negative while the players of the other side are being tested,” the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) said in a statement.

The tickets for this match would be useable at the next PSL match according to a statement by the PCB.
