A policeman was killed and five civilians suffered injuries after an explosion near a police van in Qilla Abdullah market, Chaman, on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the police, the van was on a patrol duty when the explosion took place.
Initial inquiry revealed that the bomb was installed on a motorcycle.
The injured and body of the slain official have been moved to a hospital.
Police and Rangers have cordoned off the area. The bomb disposal squad has been called in as well.
Further investigations are under way.
