Pakistan to offer priority visas to stranded journalists in Afghanistan

The visa policies to be relaxed for foreign journalists and media workers trying to escape Afghanistan via Pakistan.

On Friday, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid informed the media that the visas would be provided on priority basis and the journalists were encouraged to apply.

This comes just as the Taliban take over the two biggest cities in Afghanistan. It is expected that they will close in on the capital Kabul within a month.

Countries like US, UK and Germany have called for their citizens to return immediately. The US and UK have sent thousands of troops to retrieve their embassy Staff from Kabul.
