Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that Pakistan supports an inclusive political solution in Afghanistan and hopes that the Afghan leaders will achieve it.

Qureshi was talking to his Tajik counterpart Sirojiddin Muhriddin on Wednesday after arriving in Dushanbe to discuss the situation in Afghanistan.

In a tweet, Qureshi said that “Pakistan looks forward to continuing to work together with Tajikistan for a coordinated response to developments in Afghanistan & for regional peace, stability and connectivity.”

Foreign Minister Qureshi also appreciated Tajikistan’s leading role during its presidency of Shanghai Cooperation Organisation.

Qureshi embarked upon a mission on Tuesday to visit Central Asian Republics of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan. He will visit Iran on the last leg of his whirlwind tour to discuss Afghan visit.

Qureshi arrived in Tajikistan capital Dushanbe late on Tuesday night in the first leg of his tour. Has was received by Tajikistan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Farhod Salim, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Tajikistan Imran Haider and senior embassy officials.
