Pakistan strongly condemned the snatching of the body of Kashmiri freedom fighter Syed Ali Geelani by the Indian occupation forces and burying him before dawn on Thursday.

A statement issued by the Foreign Office on social media said that Pakistan strongly condemned the brutal act of snatching the body of senior Hurriyat leader from his family by the Indian occupation forces.

The statement further said that the international community should not only take note of the deteriorating situation in Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir but also condemn India for serious violations of human rights.

Syed Ali Geelani had died on Wednesday night after a prolonged illness. According to his family, the late Geelani wished to be buried at Martyrs Cemetery in Srinagar. However, the body was taken away by the Indian occupation forces and buried at an undisclosed location.
