The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) announced on Saturday extension in closure of all educational institutions till May 23.

In a tweet, the NCOC announced: “In Today’s NCOC session, it is decided that in view of ongoing disease trends, education institutes earlier closed till 17th May will continue to remain closed till 23rd May 21. Review will be carried out on 18th May 21.”

The NCOC decided to extend closure of educational institutions due to hike in the rate of the coronavirus pandemic.

Earlier, the NCOC had decided to keep the educational institutions closed till May 17.

Meanwhile, the Sindh government had also announced closure of all educational institutions, including schools, colleges and universities, due to the recent surge in Covid-19 cases.

Government spokesperson Murataza Wahab said 20 percent attendance will be allowed in government offices.

The Sindh government had closed intercity public transport on April 29. It has also banned indoor and outdoor dining.
