On Wednesday, during the hearing of the case on the illegal allotment of land at the Lahore Accountability Court, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Investigation Officer (IO) Abid Hussain presented the report on the confiscation of Nawaz Sharif’s assets in Pakistan. The hearing was presided by Justice Asad Ali. 

The list of assets that have been confiscated includes a plot on Upper Mall in Lahore, four pieces of agricultural land in Lahore, two pieces of agricultural land in Sheikhupura and shareholdings in four companies, ranging 0.96-10.86%. 

The number of shares in the four companies is as follows; 467,950 shares in Mohammad Buksh Textile Mills Limited (5.82%), 343,425 shares in Hudabiya Paper Mills Limited (3.59%), 22,213 shares in Hudabiya Engineering Co. (Pvt) Limited (10.86%), and 48,606 shares in Ittefaq Textile Mills Limited (0.96%). 

The confiscated assets also include four vehicles, including a Mercedes Benz, a Toyota Land Cruiser and two tractors. 

The case also includes Mir Shakeel-ur Rehman as an accused and concerns the allotment and and ownership of 54 plots in Lahore’s Johar Town which were acquired in 1986. According to NAB, Shakeel-ur Rehman had illegally acquired 54 plots, each measuring one kanal, in connivance with then Punjab chief minister Nawaz Sharif.
