The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced that the rescheduled date of the NA-75 by-polls in Daska, district Sialkot is April 10.

“The election date has been extended to bring transparency in the elections and make administrative matters foolproof,” the Commision announced on Wednesday.

The ECP had earlier scheduled the by-elections on March 18, but has now postponed them to April 10. The result of the by-polls originally conducted at the constituency on February 19 had been declared null and void by the ECP, following suspicions that results in 20 polling stations were “tampered with.”

“Incidents of murders, firing and injuries, bad law and order situation in the subject constituency [created] harassment for voters and other circumstances leading to make the process of results doubtful/unascertainable,” an order issued by the ECP stated.
