ISLAMABAD: The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) considered three projects and agreed on Karachi Transformation Plan for three years through the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) & public-private partnerships (PPP) mode of financing.

The CDWP meeting held on Monday under the Deputy Chairman Planning Commission Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan. Senior officials from Planning Commission and Federal Ministries/Divisions participated in the meeting while representatives from provincial governments. 

Karachi Transformation Plan worth Rs. 739 billion was discussed to improve Karachi’s required civic amenities in consultation with Government of Sindh under Karachi Transformation Plan in water supply, sewerage treatment and disposal, solid waste management, stormwater drains, improvement/rehabilitation of internal roads, mass transit system under the plan.

CDWP also approved a Concept Clearance Paper presented by the Government of KP namely “Foreign assistance from IFAD for project Rural Economic Transformation Project” US $100 million in all KP districts.
