Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Tareen has claimed that he’s been “subjected to media trial to damage his reputation.”

He was talking to the media after getting interim bail from a banking court in fraud and money laundering cases in Lahore on Saturday.

He sounded angry when he said why his sugar mills were being targeted. What about other 80 sugar mills? Is there no issue with them?

Tareen said that all the three cases against him are frivolous and have no substance. The decisions of the company made six to 10 years ago are being challenged, and it is not the FIA’s job to challenge these decisions.

The FIA had been handed the case “on purpose”, he added.

He said by adding the term “money laundering” the cases have been painted as criminal cases.

It seems that things are leaked under a plan, Tareen added.

Earlier, the banking court granted interim bail till April 10 to Jahangir and his son Ali Tareen against bail bonds of Rs500,000 each.
