The Chinese embassy in Pakistan has strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Gwadar and called on all departments of Pakistan to take effective practical steps for security of its nationals.

A statement issued by the Chinese embassy on Saturday said a suicide bomber struck a convoy of Chinese personnel on the Gwadar Expressway project on Friday, injuring one Chinese national, killing two local children and injuring several others.

The statement said that the Chinese embassy in Pakistan condemned the terrorist attack in Gwadar, expressed sympathy for the injured and condolences to the victims.

The embassy demanded complete medical aid to the injured and added that “Pakistan should conduct a thorough investigation into the suicide bombing and punish the culprits.”

The Chinese embassy said that all relevant departments of Pakistan should take strict measures for effective security. It urged Pakistan government to upgrade the method of security cooperation to ensure that such incidents do not occur in the future.

“Recently, the security situation in Pakistan has been severe. There have been several terrorist attacks in succession, resulting in the casualties of several Chinese citizens. The Chinese Embassy in Pakistan reminds the Chinese citizens in Pakistan to be vigilant, strengthen safety precautions, reduce unnecessary outings, and take effective security protections,” the statement concluded.

DEATH TOLL RISES: Meanwhile, death toll in the attack rose to three as another child died in the Gwadar suicide attack.

The CTD police station has registered a case and started investigations.

FAWAD TWEETS: Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry said in a tweet that the attack is “just another expression of game of sabotage” against the economic vision of the “great leadership” of China and Pakistan.

“Our enemy cannot undermine our resolve. We will spare no effort to bring culprits to justice,” he vowed.
