After almost 600 cases were recorded in the capital city, five residential areas were sealed by the authorities for atleast one week.

According to the latest data provided by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC), Pakistan recorded 9 deaths and 1,650 people tested positive for COVID-19.

318,898 people have recovered so far across Pakistan making it a significant count. 155 people are on the vent across the country out of 1,870 vents allocated for COVID-19. There is no patient on the vent in Azad Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and Balochistan.

A total of 344,839 cases have been detected so far with 4,758 cases in AJK, Balochistan 16,106, GB 4,366, ICT 1,861, Punjab 106,922, Sindh 150,169 and KPK 40,657.

Furthermore, 2,664 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Sindh, 2,390 in Punjab, 1,287 in KP, 152 in Balochistan, 231 in Islamabad, 107 in Azad Kashmir and 92 in GB.

Currently, total active cases in Pakistan stand at 18,981. Around 33,340 tests were conducted yesterday in the country with Sindh conducting 14,343 ; Punjab: 9,406 ; KP: 4,052 ; ICT: 4,065 ; Balochistan: 634 ; GB: 379 ; AJK: 461 across the country.

The order will come into effect at 10am on Monday (today). Police have been told to cordon off the areas to contain the spread of the disease.

According to a notification issued by Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad Hamza Shafqaat, subsectors I-8/3, I-8/4, G-9/1, G-10/4 and G-6/2 will be sealed.
