On Sunday, the search operation for Pakistan’s globally renowned mountaineer Muhammad Ali Sadpara and his two compatriots resumed.

Pakistan Army’s 5th Squadron helicopter is flying towards K2 since morning and will carry out the search and rescue again. In addition to this, Chhang Dawa Sherpa and others will be ready at K2 base camp to go as high as possible to search for the missing climbers.

For the search and rescue mission, the pilot has been instructed to take the flight as high as possible. Currently, the temperature is very low with winds blowing at 35kph above 6500m. Oxygen bottles, masks and regulators have been prepared for two Pakistani climbers who are High Altitude Porters (HAP).

According to their team, Muhammad Ali Sadpara, Iceland’s John Snorri and Chile’s Juan Pablo Mohr have not been in contact since they left camp three at midnight between Thursday and Friday.

Prime Minister Imran Khan and COAS Qamar Javed Bajwa are personally overlooking the developments, said Special Assistant to PM, Zulfi Bukhari.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister of Gilgit-Baltistan, Khalid Khursheed said that the search operation to safely retrieve Sadpara and his companions is underway and the government will use each and every resource at its disposal to bring back the national hero.
