Public and private educational institutions in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reopened on Thursday as the government relaxed COVID-19 restrictions due to improvement in the situation.
Educational activities resumed with 50 percent attendance and strict implementation of coronavirus related SOPs.
Earlier, the provincial schools and higher education department issued a notification in this regard.
The Punjab government had made coronavirus vaccination compulsory for the teachers, administration and other staff of all the public and private schools.
Similarly, a handout issued from the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa education department said that educational institutes are allowed to resume in-person classes with 50 percent attendance.
“Each batch of students will attend classes three days in a week,” it said.
The academic session continued in Peshawar, Mardan, Dera Ismail Khan, Malakand, Haripur, Swabi, Abbottabad, and Mansehra with 50 percent attendance after declining in new COVID infections.
However, it announced that schools in Bannu district would remain closed owing to rising COVID-19 cases.
