Army to be deployed in Sindh to ensure compliance with SOPs

Sindh cabinet approved the deployment of the army troops to help the local authorities ensure compliance with the standard operating procedures (SOPs).

The army troops have already been deployed in 16 cities – Islamabad, Peshawar, Mardan, Nowshera, Charsadda, Swabi, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan, Bahawalpur, Gujranwala, Karachi, Hyderabad, Quetta, and Muzaffarabad. Major General Babar Iftikhar, the Director-General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said on Monday that the troop deployment had been made in accordance with Article 245 of the Constitution.
