President Joe Biden has put his deputy press secretary T J Ducklo on a one-week suspension without pay after he reportedly threatened to “destroy” a reporter pursuing a story about his relationship.

Ducklo threatened Politico reporter Tara Palmeri who asked questions about his relationship with a journalist at Axios, telling her ‘I will destroy you’.

Sources said Ducklo threatened that he would ruin her reputation if the story was published.

He also accused Palmeri of being jealous of McCammond.

Ducklo also made “derogatory and misogynistic” comments toward Palmeri.

Politico editors and the White House had meeting when the matter came to limelight, and Ducklo reportedly told Palmeri he was “sorry he lost his cool.”

But he did not apologise.

White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Ducklo apologised to the Politico reporter.

Meanwhile, the White House is facing public outrage on the behaviour of its official and not firing him.

While the incident took place last month, the White House announced the suspension only after the publication of the Vanity Fair story.

When asked about the delay at Friday’s briefing, Psaki said they were dealing with Politico privately and that’s what they thought was appropriate at the time.
