President Donald Trump is still confident that he could overturn the election results. In a phone call leaked a couple of days ago, he can be heard ordering Georgia state’s election official to turn the result in his favour.

The audio of the phone call was obtained by The Washington Post. The call was made on Saturday. The president was heard threatening the official of “a big risk” for failing to comply with the order.

Trump had lost to President-elect Joe Biden by a margin of 11,779 votes in Georgia but has refused to concede. He and his close associates filed a number of lawsuits claiming election fraud without any evidence. All the lawsuits have been dismissed.

Georgia had already conducted several recounts of the votes and officially certified Biden’s victory. The results will be approved by Congress on January 6.

Refusing to budge an inch, Trump told Republican Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger in the call: “So look. All I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have. Because we won the state.”

He could be heard telling Raffensperger that the people of Georgia were angry, the people in the country were angry, “And there’s nothing wrong with saying, you know, that you’ve recalculated.”

However, Raffensperger told him that his data was wrong.

Before the newspaper released the recording, Trump tweeted: “He was unwilling, or unable, to answer questions such as the ‘ballots under table’ scam, ballot destruction, out of state ‘voters’, dead voters, and more. He has no clue!”

In response, Raffensperger tweeted: “Respectfully, President Trump: What you’re saying is not true. The truth will come out”.
