The Taliban are capable of gathering precise and accurate intelligence, Taliban spokesperson Zaibullah Mujahid said, admitting that they do not need the support of any country in their fight against Daesh/ISIS.

Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid has condemned U.S. airstrikes in Kabul, saying it’s illegal to carry out “arbitrary attacks” in other countries.

“We condemn such attacks because it is illegal to carry out arbitrary attacks in other countries. If there was any potential threat, it should have been reported to us, not an arbitrary attack that has resulted in civilian casualties,” Mujahid told CGTN’s guest reporter Zmaryali Abasin in a written response to the airstrikes.

Earlier, Abdulhaq Wasiq, a member of the Taliban’s political office, said Friday’s strikes by the U.S. are against the Doha agreement, according to Tolo News TV.

The U.S. is exaggerating the presence of the Islamic State in Afghanistan, said Wasiq.

“We have signed an agreement with Americans in Doha regarding this and the attack is against the agreement. Based on the agreement, they are not allowed to interfere in Afghanistan affairs after their withdrawal,” he added.

The U.S. Central Command said on Sunday that the U.S. military forces carried out a “self-defense” airstrike in Kabul against a suspected ISIS-K vehicle, which could pose an imminent threat to the airport.

In an interview with Anadolu Agency, Zabihullah said that US soldiers shot and killed civilians in a panic after last week’s deadly blast by Daesh/ISIS-K near Kabul Airport.

Reiterating that no organization will have any excuse left to fight after the complete withdrawal of foreign forces from the country and the establishment of the new government, Mujahid noted that those operating under Daesh/ISIS in the country did not come from Iraq or Syria but are Afghans with the terrorist group’s mentality.

He added that members of the Taliban are successfully providing security and can tackle groups such as Daesh/ISIS.

Leaving a 20-year war behind, the Taliban is capable of gathering precise and accurate intelligence, Mujahid said, adding they do not need the support of any country in their fight against Daesh/ISIS.
