In an interview with Global Village Space, DG ISPR Major General Babar Iftikhar said that Pakistan’s dossier containing irrefutable evidence of India’s state-sponsored terrorism in Pakistan has exposed Indian schemes and has garnered them a lot of negative press across the world.

“After Pakistan’s dossier, the world now is openly talking about India’s sponsorship of terrorism in Pakistan,” the military spokesperson said.

Responding to a question about what steps the Foreign office is taking next, Major General Iftikhar said that a copy of the dossier has been submitted to the office of the United Nations Secretary General, the P5 countries (China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States), along with the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

He added that these submissions have produced a strong response from these groups; “India is in a weak position in the world.”

Talking about the security threats posed by India to China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) he said that India has openly declared its intention of not letting CPEC projects be completed on the time.

Major General Iftikhar said that CPEC is the target for the enemies of Pakistan as the project is an economic game-changer for the entire region.

Responding to a question on cross-border terrorism, Major General Babar Iftikhar said that, Islamabad has been talking with the Afghan leadership about Afghan soil being used for terrorism in Pakistan.

“The Afghan government has some capacity issues, therefore Pakistan does not blames Kabul too much for use of its soil in terror activities in Pakistan.”

“In fact, India is using Afghan soil to target CPEC, they specifically try to target Chinese contractors working on the project”

The DG ISPR said that Pakistan is fully capable and prepared to defend CPEC and its own national security. He stressed that a special division has been raised for the protection of CPEC projects and eight to nine regular regiments, along with para-military forces, are also deployed to protect the economic corridor.

He added that Chinese partners are also happy with the security steps taken by Pakistan.

Talking about Line of Control (LoC) violations, Major General Babar Iftikhar said that India is trying to link the indigenous Kashmiri freedom struggle with Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. He added that Pakistan has taken diplomats, observers and members of the international media to the LoC and showed them that there is no way infiltration can take place from Pakistan as India has 900,000 military personnel in Indian Illegaly Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) while entire Pakistan Army consists of only 600,000 active servicemen.

He added that the recent resolution of the Organisation of the Islamic Organisation (OIC) has supported Pakistan’s stance over occupied Kashmir.

DG ISPR said Pakistan has always tried to settle its disputes with India through dialogue, but India has always refused to come to the table.
