Following the international trend, Pakistan has also imposed restrictions on all flights coming from the United Kingdom.

“Temporary restriction is being put in place on inbound travelers from UK (whether direct or indirect) into Pakistan to be effective from midnight Dec 22 until Dec 29,” the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) said. However, transit passengers are allowed to travel to Pakistan if they have not landed at any British airport.

In the last 24 hours, Pakistan registered 1704 new cases and 82 deaths according to latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC).

As of December 22, the total active COVID-19 cases in the country now stand at 40,261. Yesterday, 34,594 test were conducted with Sindh conducting 10,234; Punjab: 14,062; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 4,707; Islamabad: 4,663; Balochistan: 225; Gilgit Baltistan: 402 and Azad Kashmir: 301

A total of 460,672 cases detected so far (AJK 8015, Balochistan 17950, GB 4831, ICT 36416, KP 55450, Punjab 132526, Sindh 205484)

615 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities, with 2,917 patients admitted. So far, 410,937 people have recovered across Pakistan, making it a significant count.

As of today, country’s total death toll stands at 9474.
