On Tuesday, India beat England by 317 runs in the second Test match at Chennai to level the series 1-1. Axar Patel was the chief destroyer as he picked up 5 for 60 in the second innings as England were bundled out for 164.

With this performance, Patel became the ninth Indian bowler to pick up a five-wicket haul on test debut. His fellow teammate Ravichandran Ashwin was the last Indian spin bowler to achieve the feat, picking up 6-47 against the West Indies in 2011-12.

Ashwin took 3-53 in the second innings while he picked up a fifer in the first to win to bag eight wickets for the match.

Captain Joe Root was the only batsmen who offered some meaningful resistance and stayed on the wicket for 133 deliveries. Moeen Ali top-scored with a 18 ball 42, his innings included five sixes.

Kuldeep Yadav picked up 2-25 as Indian spinners took all ten wickets in the second innings and 17 in the whole match.

From the batting point of view, Rohit Sharma and Ravichandaran Ashwin starred with centuries in first and second innings respectively. Ashwin was named as man of the match.
