RAWALPINDI: Corps Commanders’ Conference was held today at the General Headquarters (GHQ) of the military in Rawalpindi. The conference was chaired by Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa. 

The participants took a comprehensive review of the global, regional and domestic security environment with particular focus on the situation along borders especially LOC/Working Boundary and the Pak-Afghan Border. 

Earlier, Prime Minister Imran Khan visited the secretariat of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) along with cabinet ministers and the military leadership.  

Accompanying the PM were ministers from his cabinet; Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Defence Minister Pervez Khattak, Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhary and Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed. Along with this, the military leadership accompanying the delegation were; Chairman Joint Chief of Staff Committee General Nadeem Raza, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa, Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi, and Chief of Air Staff Zaheer Ahmad Babar. 

The national civil and military delegation was received by Director-General ISI General Faiz Hameed. A comprehensive briefing was given to the visiting delegation regarding regional and national security. The prime minister appreciated the efforts of the ISI and expressed his satisfaction with the preparedness of the institution. 

The meeting came in the backdrop of the US withdrawal from Afghanistan and efforts in the region to thaw the relations between Pakistan and India.
