The banned outfit Tehrik-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) announced ending a week-long sit-in at Yateem Khana Chowk. Mahmood Awan, leader of the banned outfit TLP, said workers have vacated the road and now the government should remove containers and other barriers.

Earlier, the government has released the head of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), Saad Rizvi, from jail after the “successful talks” between the banned outfit and the government delegation led by the interior minister, Sheikh Rasheed. The government also tabled a resolution in the National Assembly to discuss the issue of expelling the French envoy from Pakistan.

Earlier today, member National Assembly of ruling party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Amjad Ali Khan proposed a resolution “to discuss the issue of expulsion of the French envoy”.

The resolution asked for a debate to be held on the issue of expelling the French ambassador from Pakistan, and to “apprise all European countries, especially France, of the gravity of this matter”. It further said detailed discussions on the matter should be held with all Muslim countries and it should be taken up jointly on international forums.

The TLP had been protesting for more than a week with violence breaking out in multiple cities. As a result, 4 policemen were martyred and more than 800 injured. According to TLP media handles 35 protestors died in clashes with the police.
