The Supreme Court has ordered that the reconstruction of the Karak temple should begin in two weeks. While hearing the suo moto case on the temple desecration incident on Tuesday, Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed also sought a report from the government on all minority worship places in the country.

The Supreme Court further directed Evacuee Trust Property Board’s (ETPB) Chairman to file a report on all disputed properties cases related to minority worship houses that are in court at the moment.

The ETPB Chairman was lambasted by the Chief Justice, who said “the EPTB are just making money; they take land from whomever they want and they handover land to whomever they want.”

The Supreme Court adjoined the case till the filling of the reports, it will be heard after 2 weeks.

On December 31 Chief Justice of Pakistan Gulzar Ahmed took suo motu notice of Karak incident, and directed Chairman of the Minority Rights Commission, Inspector-General of police and Chief Secretary of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to submit a report to the Supreme Court by January 4.
