In the last 24 hours, 1853 people tested positive for COVID-19 while 58 lost their lives, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC). Out of 58 deaths, 42 were seen in the province of Punjab. In addition to this, 524 new infections were also registered in the province.

As of December 27, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 39,329. Yesterday, 33,270 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 11,040; Punjab: 13,176; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa: 4,757; Islamabad: 3,571; Balochistan: 182; Gilgit-Baltistan: 336 and Azad Kashmir: 208

Till now, Pakistan has seen 422,132 recoveries from the virus, with no patients on ventilators in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan and Balochistan. In total, 314 ventilators are currently occupied in the country.

A total of 471,335 cases detected so far (AJK 8172, Balochistan 18075, GB 4850, ICT 37117, KP 57215, Punjab 135665, Sindh 210241).

Since the start of the pandemic, Pakistan has seen 9,874 deaths. Punjab is on the top with 3900 deaths followed by Sindh 3469, KPK 1602, Islamabad 404, Balochistan 182, GB 101 and AJK 216.

615 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 2,784 patients being treated.
