In the last 24 hours, 1579 people tested positive for COVID-19 in Pakistan while 52 lost their lives, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC). Most casualties were seen in the province of Punjab followed by Sindh.

As of March 5, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 17,117. Yesterday, 37,998 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 9,689; Punjab:15,092; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(KP):6,759; Islamabad(ICT):4,803; Balochistan:789; Gilgit-Baltistan(GB):263 and Azad Kashmir(AJK):603.

Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 225 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in AJK, GB and Balochistan.

A total of 587,014 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 10409; Balochistan:19097; GB:4957; ICT:45078, KPK:73258; Punjab:175051 and Sindh:259164.

Till now, Pakistan has recorded 13128 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 5510 casualties followed by Sindh:4405; KPK:2099; Islamabad: 504; Balochistan: 200; GB: 102 and AJK: 308.

631 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 1,991 patients being treated across the country. A total of 9,135,393 tests have been conducted so far.
