Prime Minister Imran Khan is expected to depart for Quetta around 10:00am on Saturday, government sources indicate. Chief of Army Staff Qamar Javed Bajwa and Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed are also expected to accompany the Prime Minister.

Late on Friday night, the mourners decided to end their sit-in and bury the bodies of the slain miners following the second meeting with Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan, and federal cabinet members Ali Zaidi and Zulfi Bukhari. The government delegation assured the Shuhada Action Committee that the Prime Minister would visit soon, and all the demands of the protestors will be met.

Government sources added that Imran Khan’s plane at the Nur Khan airbase had been put on standby with strict security measures put in place since Friday night, however the departure was delayed to early Saturday morning.
