Prime Minister Imran Khan had planned to visit Gilgit-Baltistan today, 5 April, but his trip has been postponed on account of unsuitable weather conditions. The premier was to announce a “historic” development package for the region on his visit including power projects, infrastructure and high speed internet networks.

Additionally, Imran Khan was also likely to make an announcement on GB’s provisional provincial status. This trip would have marked the prime minister’s first visit outside Islamabad after he contracted COVID-19.

Officials sources claim that the premier recovered fully from the virus last week. Prime Minister Imran had tested positive for COVID-19 on March 20 and had made a full recovery last week on March 29.
