In the last 24 hours, 5,329 people tested positive for COVID-19 while 98 lost their lives, according to the latest statistics released by the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC). Most casualties were seen in the province of Punjab followed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The number of critical patients in Pakistan stand at 3,942.

As of April 8, the total active COVID-19 cases in Pakistan stand at 66,994. Yesterday, 49,816 tests were conducted with Sindh conducting 9,411; Punjab:21,325; Khyber Pakhtunkhwa(KP):8,292; Islamabad(ICT):8,433; Balochistan:816; Gilgit-Baltistan(GB):474 and Azad Kashmir(AJK):1,065.

Out of 1,756 ventilators reserved for COVID-19 patients in the country, 467 ventilators are currently occupied. There is no patient on the ventilator in GB, and Balochistan. So far, Pakistan has seen a total of 623,399 recoveries.

A total of 705,517 cases have been detected so far in the country with AJK reporting 13,873; Balochistan:19,999; GB:5,070; ICT:63,499, KP:94,880; Punjab:240,584 and Sindh:267,612.

Till now, Pakistan has recorded 15,124 deaths. Punjab is on top of the list with 6,793 casualties followed by Sindh:4,520; KP:2,519; Islamabad: 591; Balochistan: 212; GB: 103 and AJK: 386.

631 hospitals in Pakistan are equipped with COVID-19 facilities with 4,726 patients being treated across the country. A total of 10,584,877 tests have been conducted so far.
