Pakistan will begin its second phase of COVID-19 vaccination from today. People over age 60 will be targeted in this phase.

“The senior most citizens will be the first ones to receive the doses of COVID-19 vaccine,” Special Assistant to Prime Minister on National Health Services Dr Faisal Sultan had said on Tuesday.

He urged the healthcare workers and those eligible to get vaccinated to protect themselves as well as their loved ones.

The registration for the senior citizens started on February 15. The health authorities asked the people to send a text message at 1166.

On Sunday, the Federal Minister for Planning and head of the National Command and Control Centre (NCOC) announced that vaccination for people above age 60 will start from March 10. He took to Twitter and said, “The vaccination of people 60 years and older will be starting from Wednesday the 10th of March.
