Pakistan has shown ‘sustained’ growth in both remittances and the industrial sector. Prime Minister Imran Khan revealed in a post on Twitter that remittances were up 24% compared to last year, making it the ‘eighth consecutive month’ of remittances above 2 billion dollars.

“This is a record for our country and I thank our overseas Pakistanis,” the tweet read.

The Prime Minister also delineated ‘good news’ from the industrial sector, with large scale manufacturing witnessing a ‘double digit growth month’.

“Good news from industrial sector also, showing sustained growth. Large scale manufacturing saw another double digit growth month in December 2020 – 11.4% growth versus December 2019. Cumulative July to Dec growth above 8% now.”
