The National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST) stands at #76 in the Top 100 QS rankings for Asian universities, moving seven ranks up from #83 last year. However, it is the only university from Pakistan to appear in the top 100 QS (Quacquarelli Symonds) Asia University Ranking for 2021, making this the second consecutive time NUST has stood there alone, with no other varsity from the country making the list.

More than 30 other Pakistani universities have made it to this year’s top Asian universities, with Quaid-i-Azam University came at 106, Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) at 121, COMSATS University Islamabad at 146, University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore at 175, Pakistan Institute of Engineering and Applied Sciences at 176, and the University of Punjab at 178.

The University of Peshawar has been positioned at 217 while Agha Khan University is at 231, University of Agriculture Faisalabad at 244, University of Karachi at 281 and University of Lahore at 301.

The 650 featured universities can be found in 18 locations across Asia. The most-represented location is Mainland China (124 ranked universities). Its closest competitor systems are India (107), Japan (105), South Korea (88), Taiwan (43), Pakistan (40), Malaysia (35), and Indonesia (30), according to official data provided by QS Quacquarelli Symonds.
