Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that he has “nothing to do” with the Broadsheet and the agreement was signed by Pervez Musharraf.

He said in an interview aired by a News TV channel that the firm found Nawaz Sharif’s assets worth $800 million.

He said that the government was under obligation to pay the firm and if it failed to do so, it would have to pay an interest of 5,000 pounds a day.

The premier termed the foreign funding case against the PTI as mala fide. He expressed trust in the Election Commission scrutiny committee.

About the opposition’s allegation that the PTI received funding from Israel and India, Imran said that he has offered an open hearing of the case either by the Supreme Court or the Election Commission.

He said the PTI has given a complete record of donors. He questioned if there were wrongdoings, would he offered to hold open hearing.

Imran said the government had formed a ministerial committee, comprising judges and lawyers, to investigate the case and suggest ways to bring back the public money from abroad.

He said the government had to pay $28.7 million in damages to Broadsheet. He also gave a reference of a US State Department report on annual money laundering of $10 billion, which has risen to $200 billion during last 20 years.

He said that the government was forced to increase the oil prices to avert debt burden on the country.

Imran said the country could not afford more loans to keep oil prices low.
