Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI) leader Hafiz Hussain Ahmed on Saturday called for elections in the party after disbanding all factions to unite the party.

Hafiz Hussain was addressing participants in the inauguration ceremony of the JUI’s contact office in Peshawar along with Maulana Muhammad Sherani.

In an indirect reference to Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman, he said effort was made to transform the JUI into a family party by expelling all those following the ideology of the party.

He urged Maulana Fazal to restore the constitution of the party forthwith and

help unite the factions under Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan banner.

He asked Maulana Fazal to immediately join the JUI Pakistan.

He claimed that Maulana Fazal was trying to retore his credibility and reputation.

About the opposition alliance PDM, Hafiz Hussain said the JUI-F was used as tissue paper.

He said that the PDM is about to disintegrate.

Hafiz Hussain Ahmed, Maulana Sherani, Maulana Gul Naseeb Khan and Maulana Shuja-ul-Mulk were expelled from the party on December 26 last year.
