ISLAMABAD: The first lady, wife of Prime Minister Imran Khan, Bushra Bibi tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday.

The news came after the premier had already tested positive for the virus earlier today. The couple contracted the virus merely days after the premier was administered the first dose of vaccine against the viral infection.

Dr Sultan said the prime minister went into self-isolation at his Banigala residence after testing positive for the infection. He has a slight fever with cough, but overall he is doing well.

The premier had shown symptoms of the virus on the same day he was administered the first dose of the vaccine. His second dose of the vaccination was still pending, confirmed the health ministry spokesperson.
