The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) has claimed to have killed at least five suspected militants in Quetta on Tuesday, media reports quoted its spokesperson as saying.

According to the spokesperson, the operation was conducted in Quetta’s Hazarganji area. The CTD officers, on a tip-off, raided an alleged hideout of the alleged militants. They allegedly seized a huge cache of weapons and explosives from the site.

“The [alleged] terrorists wanted to target sensitive national installations but the forces took timely action and thwarted the miscreants’ intentions,” the CTD spokesperson claimed.

The bodies have been shifted to the Quetta Civil Hospital for identification, the spokesperson added.
