Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz came to trade harsh words with Prime Minister Imran Khan when he offered to tender his resignation if the plunderers return money to the national exchequer.

The prime minister said “I will resign tomorrow if you deposit the money you stole back into the national exchequer.”

Maryam Nawaz took to twitter and posted a strong worded rejoinder, asking the prime minister to wait for some time.

She retorted that when the resignations are turned in they won’t be like certain “honest figures” who did not turn up in assembly when the speaker summoned.

In an apparent reference to the PTI protest, she said they stood on road and “curse the assemblies day in and day out and then return one fine day, and get salaries and allowances despite being absent from them.”

She asked the prime minister to “be patient” and he will see “what it is to hand in resignations”.

The prime minster also dared the opposition to resign from the assemblies as threatened by the 11-party alliance, Pakistan Democratic Movement.

He ridiculed that such people do not have the guts to resign, adding that such a move requires courage and character.

He also lashed out at the decision by the opposition to contest the Senate elections reminding them that they were to long march to Islamabad and Rawalpindi. They also failed to gather people in their rallies.

The premier said the December 31 and January 31 deadlines have passed, a reference to the deadlines the PDM had set for him to resign.
