ISLAMABAD: The federal cabinet approved the price hike on utility store items. Sugar, ghee and flour became more expensive, the Ministry of Industries & Production issued the price revision notification yesterday, July 27.

As per the notification, sugar prices have increased by 17 kilograms, from Rs68 per kg earlier to Rs85 per kg.

Similarly, there was a total of Rs90 increase in ghee price. Per kilogram, ghee is now Rs260, and earlier, it was Rs170.

Each 20 kg bag of flour now costs Rs950, which was previously Rs800, a total of Rs150 increase.

The notification also directed accounts officers to visit warehouses to prepare price variation of items personally. The stocks must be counted physically and reported to the account manager.
