After much anticipation, Apple has finally announced an event on October 13 where the latest model of iPhone is likely to be revealed.

The event invitation shows apple logo confined within unequally distanced concentric circles and the tagline “Hi, Speed.” written below the image which potentially refers to the 5G support expected to be a part of new technology.

For Covid-19 safety concerns, the event will be virtually broadcasted from Apple Park.

iPhone 12 is expected to be a significant upgrade with 5G support, sleeker design with flat edges similar to iPad Pro, new size variances and faster performance.

4 models likely to be included are; the 5.4-inch iPhone 12 mini, 6.1-inch iPhone 12 (replacing iPhone 11) and 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro, 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max (replacing iPhone 11 Pro Max). A new color “Navy Blue” is also rumored to be added in the upcoming range.

While in the past Apple has efficiently released the new iPhone models latest by September each year, 2020 saw delays because of the pandemic. In June, Apple CFO Luca Maestri said the new iPhones would be “available a few weeks later [than usual]” and with September 7, 9 (twice), 10 and 12 (twice) making up the launch dates for the last six generations of iPhone.

In September, Apple did hold an event but only to unveil two new Apple Watches, new iPads, and a digital fitness service.

Apple’s next iPhone is predicted to go hit with a fairly large consumer demand. According to the tech website Bloomberg, 75 million iPhone are in the process to be built.

Wedbush Securities analyst Daniel Ives has described the iPhone 12 launch as a “once in a decade” launch for Apple, estimating that 350 million active iPhones around the world are in the window of an upgrade opportunity.
