Prime Minister Imran once again offered Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to start a peace dialogue to resolve the Kashmir issue and asked India to revert its decision of lifting Article 370. He made these comments while addressing a rally on Kashmir Solidarity Day at Kotli in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

“I’m still asking Modi to resolve the Kashmir issue through talks, but don’t confuse our invitation for dialogue as a sign of weakness or fear.” He said he had invited the Indian PM several times for dialogue as it was the only viable solution. However, he realized after the Pulwama incident that the Modi government was not interested in peace or friendly ties with Pakistan.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said Pakistan stands united for the cause of Kashmir. He added that Pakistan will allow Kashmiris to decide between choosing to join Pakistan or remaining independent even after they vote in favor of Pakistan in a future plebiscite.

Addressing a public gathering in the Kotli district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), he said the United Nations and the international community have failed to provide to the people of Kashmir the promised right to determine their own future.

“When the residents of Indian-occupied Kashmir, as well as Azad Kashmir, get the right to decide their future, and when the people of Kashmir will choose Pakistan, InshAllah, then Pakistan will give Kashmiris the right to decide whether they want to become a part of Pakistan or remain independent.”
